Hadrian, 117 - 138 AD
AE Drachm of Alexandria, Egypt

Laureate bust right / Isis Pharia standing, holding billowing sail, sailing towards the Pharos lighthouse

Comment- This large coin portrays one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Notice the top tier seems to show the guiding light enclosed in it, and the three Triton statues which adorn the lighthouse. Isis Pharia was the protecting goddess of seamen.

Severus Alexander, 221 - 235 AD
AE 28 of Istros, Moesia

Bust right / Reclining river god before lighthouse

Comment- The river god is wearing a wreath of trast (reed), and is holding a reed in his left hand and a fish in his right hand. There is a jug from which river water flows. Notice the blocks on the lighthouse. Moushmov 185 shows an Elagabalus, but no Severus Alexander.
